My 'Off' Day

Well-spent with Bubble because he went for his first beach outing! It is not everyday that I can relax at the beach- one of my favourite places on earth.

The sea seems so calm here at the Singapore Waters. It is almost impossible to imagine that this was what washed across Japan just a few weeks ago, destroying vehicles, architecture & had drowned thousands of living organisms overnight...

Back to my 'off day'; Bubble met plenty of new friends at the Pets Corner carnival which was held at East Coast Park last Sunday. There were so many pet owners we couldn't get ourselves a parking lot next to the Lagoon Hawker Centre. We had to park next to the Water cable-ski park and walk a distance.

Time to show you!

Bubble is shy due to lack of socializing. We saw many dogs along the way but he just stood at a corner with his tail down-a sign showing that he's afraid instead of sniffing around. He hesitated for a long time to walk on. Even his daddy tried to coax him to move but to no avail.

Not until FEMALE dogs walked pass! In a flash he was running after them.

Here we are at Pets Corner held by TNP at last.

It is my first and will most probably be my last. Apart from the pet challenges held at the carnival, I was looking forward to more dog & owner activities like a temporary set up dog playground, mini dog pool, dog cafe & picnic, a dog run etc. To my disappointment, there weren't any of these. On top of that, all pets had to be leashed. The booths were mostly selling pet food, pet toys, pet insurance as well as an SPCA booth. We completed walking a circle round the carnival in less than 15minutes. Let's hope to see a better Pets Corner next year.

Plus points!

There were sufficient poo and water stations they located around and the place was very clean. On top of that the cooler fans really helped to keep the tentage cool.

The first booth wqhich caught my attention was the AVA booth. There was this maze game where you learn more about how to take better care of your pets- Choose the right guidelines and walk the poor dog out of the maze. You will win a goodie bag at the end. I wanted the bag because of the cute paper bag.

The SPCA booth: Bought some bookmarks and planners for my students to contribute to the SPCA fund.

I was in time for the Wag-The-Tail Contest. The dog which can wag its tails the most number of times and wag with style wins. The dog in the centre of the stage caught my attention. Not only was it wagging its tail, it was dancing! It's a pity I didn't stay until the announcement of the winner. I had to meet Desmond at the hawker centre for song practice.

More dogs! There must be a poodle trend in Singapore because we saw more poodles than expected.

The last plus point was that the carnival was NEXT to the beach! Bubble and I ran and threw ourselves into the sea!

Before I end my post, show you something extremely interesting!
Bubble and I saw this dog which can do 恭喜恭喜(Gong-xi-gong-xi)! He is so good you'll really want to give him a red packet even if it's not Chinese New Year.

This is REAL.
Enjoy the clip!
