Valentine s Day 2012

First of, my blog is growing cobwebs I know. My netbook is down!!! Think the wireless adapter broke or something. I was hoping to publish my reviews this week and share some good stuff with everyone!

What I can only do now is use my iPhone to blog. AT LEAST that's SOMETHING.

谁叫老天不做美。
Oh yes, as I'm typing mandarin, Here's a shoutout that there's a mandarin speaking contest going on online. Stand a chance to win $1000 cash prize and an iPad! For more information, please visit http://blog.Omy.sg/use-mandarin.

I had a really special Valentine's Day this year for I celebrated with a group of friends: Silver Zir, her mama, Hagen, Edwin, Angeline and Jackie Goh! We had dinner together at De'Beer Garden at D'Kranji Farm. It was certainly one of the most meaningful Valentine's day I've celebrated so far.

The next day, I went for high-tea at Tea Cosy(plaza Singapura) with Amanda Darling, Candy and Della. My first time having girly high-tea sessions ever!

You know what, I like it!

Tea Cosy had the girliest little things one could lay their hands on, affordable set lunch meals for $15.95+ and High Tea set for Two for $29.95.

We ordered both and ate to our hearts' content. *burp*

Also, i'm really blessed to still be receiving post birthday gifts from BFFs as well as surprise Valentine's Day Pressies!

Okay, I'm uploading the photos from my iPhone and honestly speaking, I've NO idea at all how to write captions along with the photos I'm going to post. The photos are below right my page and I'm totally helpless about it. Can't seem to arrange the photos in th sequence i want to as well. -_______-"

Took a printscreen to show u what I meant.

I'll update the captions with the names of those who gave me the pressies when my netbook is working again. Thank you LOVES!

Valentine's Day, and love's in the air!

Blessed be.

My Cousin Can Dance!

First of all Cousin Ben, if you're reading this, I just want to let you know that I'm extremely proud of you, and have always been!

All my cousins have talents of their own, and this cousin of mine, Benjamin Chua, has a gift for dancing. When he grooves, he makes me wanna groove along and wave my hands in the air with him! (I DID and i don't care if I looked stupid then.)

Yes, I'm showing off to all of you that I have a cousin who can dance and he is so totally passionate about it!  *BLEAH*

Together with my family members and Silver Zir, we attended his school's dance concert last week. It's call "What's Stopping You?".

Synopsis of this dance concert taken from the programme sheet that was given to me:

We all face different forms of restriction in our everyday lives, holding us back from pursuing our passion as a dancer. The struggle between reality and dreams eventually causes the line between them to blur. What would you do? What can you do?  In order to break free from_what's stopping you?

All of you did a great job! HURRAY!

I've uploaded some videos of my cousin's performance for you. Check them out. I realise that he's a good actor too, so steady on stage. Apologies for the audience's conversations! :(

There are many things we do in life which requires passion and love. It's true, people struggle between their passion and work. We have to give it up eventually in exchange for a steady income, a so-called 'better future'. Humans become living robots.

I do not wish to give up my passion too-- hosting, acting, blogging, singing. What's stopping me?
INCOME.

HUAT AH, $$$$$$ come.

You know, without the the many of you who endlessly shower me with love and support, I couldn't have sustain until now. THANK YOU.

Thanks for accompanying me to watch the concert, zir!

BFFs like William(maroon) and Smith(blue).

I got to know Rachell a little more each time I meet her at event.

When I first got to know PXDKITTY (Rachell), she is someone who improvise her clothes; fashion sense 10/10 and mine, 0/10. Her blog's full of fashion, make up, hair, skincare, food and leisure.

This time, the theme for this relaunch was Oriental.  Apparently no one else bother to dress in Oriental as you can tell from the picture below. All except Rachell, who came in a smart black, cheong-sam style short dress. But wait, the dress she's wearing can be non-oriental too, just in case no one else come dressing for the theme. It was a stylish black dress. Read about her cruise experience here.

[Review] Jack And Jill, Baush + Lomb Pure Vision 2 HD Contacts

Jack and Jill went up the hill, and down the hill, and up again, then down and up and down... That's the feeling you get when your paranoid sister comes and visit.

Who are the twins then?
They are both played by the same person, ADAM SANDLER!

He rocks the world.

Even the High-5 seems so realistic, like the siblings were totally different people altogether!

I was studying every detail so clearly, clearer than ever in the dark with my Baush + Lomb PV2 HD contact lens. So much comfort!

I don't feel the lens there at all!

Read my full review here: http://mintleong.blogspot.com/2012/01/bausch-lombsoflens-daily-disposables.html?m=1

Amidst the humour, let's not forget the hidden values being put across: Genuine kinship.

The endless forgiveness and tolerance these two siblings have for each other, how they compromise.

It can be done, but how forgiving are you?

This value is to be felt with your heart, something you can't see on the surface.

Give it some thoughts.

[Review ]Viral Factor with SofLens(R) Daily Disposable

tvf
image taken from incinemas.sg

This movie is about a very complex relationship between 2 brothers and a bio-war, simplified.

Two biological brothers were separated from each other since very young. The younger brother(Jon) played by Jay Chou, stayed in China with his mum and grew up to work as an IDC agent. The other, the elder brother(Yeung) played by Nicholas Tse, grew up in Malaysia with his dad and turned out to be one of Malaysia's most wanted bandit.

After more than 2 decades apart, they met.

Of course they didn't know they were brothers at first. The kinship was only gradually discovered as the story goes on with both of them trying to kill each other until their kindship was discovered. Having said that, will you trust a thief when you're cop, even though he's your biological brother?

At the same time, these two brothers were betrayed by the same organisation and end up stranded in between a bio-war which they have to save.

Sometimes, being a bad guy doesn't mean you'll always do the wrong things.

How ethical are you?
It's complicated, isn't it?

Tensing, thrilling yet heartwarming, I love this story.

Compliment to Jay Chou: I saw your effort put in to learning English! Very inspired to keep learning, like you.

This movie was watched with SofLens(R) Daily Disposable.

Some friends have been asking if I'm able to get Super Show 4 tickets for them. Guess what I found in my inbox today?

From Press Release

Super Junior fans can rejoice, Singapore’s favorite Korean boy band is coming back! F&N Sparkling Drinks is pleased to be once again the official beverage sponsor of the Singapore leg of the top group’s world concert, Super Show 4.

When Super Junior came to Singapore for their first solo concert in 2011, F&N Sparkling Drinks rallied fans to show them how much Singapore loved them by giving the band the best dance tribute videos collected via a contest planned specially for the fans. This year, F&N Sparkling Drinks is calling fans to bring the house down with the best and most number of Super Junior Fan Chants! What’s more, a total of more than $23,760 worth of prizes, including the highly coveted concert tickets, will be given away across three island-wide with-purchase promotions!

Super Junior Fan Chant Contest by F&N

Step into a Super Junior concert and immediately the atmosphere feels electric. The chance to see and hear some of the most talented boys of their generation sing, dance and charm themselves into hearts is a spectacular treat. What makes Super Junior concerts even more immensely fulfilling is the exuberance shared among fellow fans and this is best witnessed in the fan chants. Fan chants are the culmination of the excitement and sheer love bubbling over among fans. Created by the dedicated fans of the boy band, fan chants are lyrics chanted in rhythm or sung at specific points during a song to enhance the performance on stage and the concert experience. No cue is needed from the performers and no performance is complete without a fan chant!

To welcome Super Junior back to Singapore, F&N Sparkling Drinks is calling all Ever Lasting Fans (E.L.Fs are what Super Junior fans call themselves) to show their support for the band by creating videos of SUJU Fan Chants!

Simply form a team of 2 to 10 and create a video of the fan chant being performed. The winner will be chosen by 30% popular vote, and 70% judges’ choice. Judges will be looking for creativity, fun, and presentation. The number of people on the team will also be taken into account the number of people. Original fan chants and fan chants that incorporate F&N Sparkling Drinks will also get extra notice from the judges. (SeeSuper Junior Fan Chant Contest by F&N Quick Facts for full mechanics)

The winning team will walk away with tickets to Super Show 4 in Singapore, and the winning fan chant video will also be screened at the concert! Details and the contest entry form can be found at www.facebook.com/FnNFuN.
