The street was already crowded when I arrived.
This is a halloween event where you can experience going from door to door with a bag, call out 'trick-or treats' and receive candies & chocolates! It's an event suitable for ALL ages.
This year, Silver, my godsis aka Zir, was also there to witness and soak herself in this festive occasion too! She was all dressed up and ready for Halloween!

My concern then was, how did the mascots manage to parade down the street in their costumes in such a humid weather?

She's an eye ball.
They have definitely spent a lot of time and effort dressing to the nines! This year, I noticed more participating youths as well as an increasing number of locals. Also, this is one of the few mass events in Singapore flocked with crowds in the streets BUT with no Bangalas in sight. *PHEW* (I remembered I was molested at the Millennium Countdown outside Takashimaya when I was 14; I avoided attending countdowns events ever since.)
*Shall not swell into those unhappy moments*
On Halloween's day, it is said that vampires, witches and spirits will come out on the streets. If you dress up as a ghost or bloody spirit, it will scare them off. It is also said that if you wear a mask on Halloween, the spirits & souls won't be able to recognise you so you will be safe.
Apart from dressing up as ghosts, monsters & spirits, the participants at Woodgrove Halloween were tweaked the costume party. They came dressed as a princess, cleopatra, convicts, food, electrical appliances, Miss Universe, superheroes and more!
Families and friends organise slumber parties too. They get together to watch horror movies & play games throughout the night to stay awake to welcome All Hallow's Day on 1st November 2011.
Time to show you more pictures.
Many of these snap shots are blurred.
I tried my best to get good shots but... I'll try even harder next year.
You'll notice these photos contain more of Silver because I was snapping a lot of her from my camera and she was doing the same thing for me (Thanks, Love!)
It's trick-or-treating time!
Some of the houses are collecting funds and reusable items for the less fortunate.
Even the pet doggies are dressed up for Halloween.
Guess who else I bumped into, the J babies--Joey(2nd left) & Jayne(front row, 2nd right)-- and their friends! so excited with the kids that I forgot to take a photo with their mummy(Klessis) & daddy(Isaiah), argh!

In one of these houses, Michael Jackson's triller MV was being screened. He's a ghost too, relevant:

A piece of drawing block cut into a shape of a shirt to ward us off? It's pasted in front of the house gate.
Adorable twins!
The twin's sister:
Music is part of life:
The ears of the mickey mouse in the center of this picture are made of a pair of speakers. He was blasting music while walking down Woodgrove Avenue.
The mega radio of this guy is playing music too!
He's definitely too hard to ignore:
Tired children looking for a comfortable spot to take a rest. The place is big!
After one and a half hours of pure walking, I felt my legs breaking. Zir and I called it for a day and move to our next venue, All About Eve bar, for our singing performance.
Happy Halloween, Everyone!
See you next year, Woodgrove!
PS: In case you asked, the Halloween party(trick-or-treating) at Woodlands Woodgrove happens on 31st October of every year. Admission is FREE.
