Customised My iPhone 5S and iPad Air Casing At The Kase, ION Orchard

Oh Yeah Oh yeah Oh Yeah!*
Mobile phone and tablet accessories can be C.U.S.T.O.M.I.S.E.D.
Oh yeah Oh yeah Oh Yeah!*

*Watch too much Phineas and Ferb.
My new favourite cartoon show.*

The Kase

Launched in France in 2012, The Kase is an international brand specialising in fashionable and customised mobile phone and tablet accessories. The Kase believes in being unique (or UNIK) and this has defined their brand concept of offering exclusive collections created by their community designers and in-store personalisation.

There are currently TWO The Kase stores in Singapore; one at ION Orchard and the other at Parkway Parade.

I visited the ION Orchard Branch located at #B2-27 (the link to Wheelock Place is close by).

Random: Walked up and thank the uncle who was mopping the floor. He gave me a stunned look at first but smiled back when he realised I said 'thank you'. Totally made my day. Be kind. :)

Once inside, be dazzled by rows and rows of ready-made phone casing designs - some specially designed and drawn by well-known artists, others came in special prints and were made of special materials like wood and genuine leather.

The Customization Workshop - The Kase ID

The most popular section in the shop.

Customising of casings can be done with The Kase ID, which offers you the chance to customise most smartphone or tablet cases. Each boutique has a customisation workshop consisting of a high-performance industrial machine, where you can see your UNIK creation come true.

Here, you can customise your casing in 15 minutes!
These casings are Scratch-proof.

It was full house at the workshop area even on a weekday afternoon.

To facilitate the customisation process, there is more than one way to access your images.

METHOD 1.
You can access your facebook account from one of the touch screens to choose your picture. Here, you can also preview and add in ONE-LINE text.

METHOD 2.Alternatively, you can connect to the wifi with your gadgets and send your chosen image to the indicated email address
.

METHOD 3.
Last but not least, you can use their in-house gadget to access and choose your image.

Come Prepared with your picture first.

TIP: You are only allowed to print ONE image on the casing if you doing it at The Kase boutique.

Lesson learnt:
Caren (another blogger friend I bumped into on the same day) was so smart because prior to her visit, she tried and measured the cover online, did a photo collage with photoshop and uploaded her collage on her facebook. All she had to do was to send her image, validate the preview and send it for printing so she got her casing really quickly.

As for me, I spent some time on my phone photo-editing app 'Photo wonder' doing collage with pictures chosen from my phone: one with Bubble Leong smiling, one with mum, one with my favourite boy and one with Ang Zir zir... All my favourite loves are going to be on the casing!

Unfortunately, the collage didn't align with the size of the casing (you can tell from the picture below).
There was a big empty space.

This was the preview shown on the screen!

In the end, I added my name with the Text function to balance up the space and the images.

Thank you Louis for helping me with the customisation!
Louis here allowed me to take my time to do up my collage. He even took initiative to adjust and align my image for me before we sent it for printing.

Thanks to him and his brilliant suggestions, I have a casing which I like very much in the end!

Here's the machine to ink the images onto the casings.
It can print up to a few phone casings at a time!

Customising my Ipad Air Casing

While waiting, I prepared my design for my iPad Air.
This time, I chose only ONE image; one I really really like.
One which is designed by Darren Ang (Method86).

The image is going to be printed on a transparent, silicon casing.
I can't wait to see my casings!!!

Your iPhone 5s

Oh yes before I forgot to highlight this other thing:
I realise that I have to use the original cable to charge the phone because the tip of my 3-in-1 cable was slightly bigger than the opening of the casing.

Full Plug in with my Original iPhone 5 cable:

I have to take out the casing when using the 3-in-1 cable to charge my phone:

So take note when charging  your phone.

Two happy girls with Louis, impressed with his patience and excellent service.
Thank you for your help once again!

Read Caren's experience at The Kase boutique here.

Look at the packaging, so atas omg!
A little bird told me that the paper bag was made by the same paper bag manufacturer of Chanel.

Woots~

Thank you The Kase for your hospitality.
I'm very satisfied with my latest TheKase collection~

N.E.mation! 8 Awards Ceremony

The long wait is finally over!

N.E.mation! 8 Awards Ceremony
at
the National Musuem.

Results announced!

This way in~

Located outside the hall, there were small booths lined up showcasing some of the props used in the N.E.mation! competitions.

This monopoly board was one of them.
A brilliant idea from Delta-gaytors, CHIJ St. Nicholas Girls' School. They used this to narrate and encourage the yellow ribbon project.

Can you identify which videos were these props used?
Check out the N.E.mation Youtube Channel to see if you're right!

Here's a music-realted activity the guests were invited to participate before the actual ceremony commenced. We know one efficient method to cheer loudly for teams we support at carnivals/events -- by clapping plastic tubes.

But using these tubes to make music?
This is completely new to me.

Guests at the event were given tubes of different colours and lengths - green, yellow, blue etc.
I got the long red ones with a slip of paper indicating when I'm supposed to hit the tubes.

How do you read this?!

No worries!

We were given a quick tutorial led by STIXmusic (this awesome man's name is Duncan if I've not mistaken) on how to interpret the slip.

Duncan told us that every square represents ONE beat.
The squares go by counts of 4.

"1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and"

Everytime you see a coloured squared, you hit your tube following the counts and beats.
Watch this video on how Duncan led us through the tutorial.
It's a 15 sec instavideo:

It was a miracle because in about 5 minutes, all of us hit our tubes and 'played' Beethoven's 9th Symphony together!

Brilliant idea from STIXmusic.

I recorded the moment down on my instavideo.
Watch how we did it: http://instagram.com/p/koeiZeJhn_/

Super cool right!

This activity has totally reflected how everyone plays a part and work together to achieve great results!

So who's the champion of this year's N.E.mation! 8 contest?

One of the 5 N.E.ambassadors, Sarah, was extremely excited because BOTH her teams, made it to TOP 2. One of them is going to be the 1st runner-up and the other would be crowned CHAMPION!

Congratulations Sarah!

This video shows you the STIX activity we did and the announcement of the results:

Congratulations to The 4 Of US II from Tangling Secondary School~
YOU ARE GOING ON A ALL-PAID EXPENSES TRIP TO USA!!!

I'm equally proud of my 2 teams, UnicornsAndRainbows;) and Synch.
I felt that some of the teams have incomplete stories(probably due to time constraints) and thought that my two teams, on the other hand, conveyed the message of this year's theme, 'Because You Played A Part', extremely well in their short 1minute clip.

They were complete, heartwarming and very touching.

My angels from left to right:
Xin Pei, Ching Gje, Yumi and Trish

This is their final product:

SYNCH warriors from left to right:
Jeremy, Jaren, Elyse and Jason

Their final video, Because 'I' played a part:

My girls were so optimistic.
They told me how they've received the most special trophy because they got the 'running horse' images printed on it instead of the usual 'NEmation' logo.

*jumps for joy*

People were coming up to them and asking for a trophy exchange.
:p

My model of the day to pose with the Special Trophy, Yumi from UnicornsAndRainbows;)

Happy Total Defence Day, Singapore!

The younger generations have once again, prove to us that they are not the assumed 'strawberries'.

They are creative, fun-loving and determined.
They know love and peace.
They show mass gratitude and kindness.

So much better than a lot of adults out there.
*Immediate referring to THIS MAN in his late 30s who is likely an animal abuser.
She's just a tiny dog, barely 2kg...
I'm watching you.*

Signing off with the rest of the ambassadors and see you really soon, N.E.mation! 9

WOHOOOO!
